No, not really. I don’t think so. The use of images of sex in adverts do not really translate to sales. What is subliminal remains as such. The belief that sex sells through advertising has long been misleading and misguiding producers and the marketing machinery at their side. It is the product that sells, not the message. The product is its own necessary advertising. A lemon is a lemon, no matter how you try to make it a banana.
